The scorchers are back!!

O Boy, did you see that goal from Scholesy?? He got one chance in a volley and put it away majestically over the stranded White and Purple shirts from 25 yards. The best Kiraly could do was just touch the ball with his fingers before it hit the underside of the bar and sailed into the Aston Villa net, proud to be struck by one of the best midfielders who have ever graced this game. Scholes has patrolled the Man Utd midfield with utmost authority this season and it’s a surprise that such a scorcher came so late in the season for him. Fans have always been crazy about players like Beckham, Giggs or Rooney and have ignored the playmaking spark that Scholes has provided from the midfield. Always media shy and preferring to keep a low profile, the ‘ginger ninja’ has been the unsung champion of the Red Devils for the past decade. One just needs to witness his intelligent passing and awareness in the field to appreciate what a special talent he is and without a doubt, he is up there with the likes of Tendulkar and Schumacher as my all-time sporting heroes.

Owing to their superior bench, Chelsea always manage to up the pressure and beat teams in the last quarter of the game. They have match winners all around in the squad and it was hardly a surprise to see Robben score in injury time against Wigan, yet again. Without a doubt, our first team has played far more consistently than the Blues and I can only hope that the players remain injury free and continue to hit top gear in the 2nd half of the season. We are a team that is based on attacking football and winning trophies – let’s just hope the Premiership comes back to where it belongs!

Scholesy - continuing to drive the Red Devils forward!!
